Stephen Frank From a comment to this article found in the comment section of this Fleischman article: “These state governments spend per resident: $7,615 CA       $5,161 TX        $5,043 FL So, CA govt spend 52% more per resident than FL and 48% more than Texas. CA roads, schools, and infrastructure are not superior to the other states, demonstrating that when it comes to government, you don’t get what you pay for.” Texas and Florida have massive surpluses and are cutting taxes.  California, per the LAO, is going to have deficits of $20-30 billion a year for many years in the future.  When the Feds cut funding for the State, cities, school districts and counties for violations of Federal laws, approximately $40 billion will be lost.  You are watching in real time the collapse of a once great State.
